Speaker announced for November HLHS event

Sue Ziegler, award-winning volleyball coach and Nebraska Coaches Hall of Fame inductee, will be the speaker at Heartland Lutheran High School’s Honoring His Harvest event on November 12.
Sue is the head volleyball coach at Lincoln Lutheran Middle-High School where the team achieved a 40-0 record for the 2022 Volleyball season and won back-to-back State Championships in 2021 and 2022. Sue was a NHSACA National Volleyball Coach of the Year Finalist in 2023, NSAA Regional Volleyball Coach of the Year in 2022, AVCA National High School Coach of the Year in 2021, and Nebraska Coaches Association/Hudl Volleyball Coach of the Year in 2021. She has led the team to 12 State Volleyball appearances, including 4 state championships and 2 Runner-up finishes, 1 third-place finish and 1 fourth-place finish. The team has posted 524 wins in volleyball during her 25 seasons at Lincoln Lutheran. She serves on the Nebraska Coaches Association All-Star player selection committee, has twice coached the Nebraska Coaches Association All-Star team, three times selected KFOR Sportscasters Coach of the Year, and received Lincoln Journal Star High School Coach of the Year and Fellowship of Christian Athletes Coach of the Year honors.


In addition, as head track and field coach Sue was named Nebraska Coaches Association/Hudl Track & Field Coach of the Year in 2019 and was a NHSACA National Track & Field Coach of the Year Finalist in 2020. The team has posted 29 State Track & Field Appearances, including 4 State Championships and 2 Runner-up finishes.


The Honoring His Harvest event on November 12 begins with a catered dinner at 5 p.m. with program and speaker to follow. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased from the school office at 3900 West Husker Highway, Grand Island, phone 308-385-3900. The event is supported in part by Thrivent–Grand Island.
