📚🍎 Tre had a memorable day as 8th Grade Teacher of the Day!

The class enjoyed a classic movie, learning the timeless lesson on the evils of creating dinosaurs—warning us all about hubris, chaos, and unexpected consequences. 🦖

Then, they pivoted to the noble art of playing with swim noodles as swords, proving that wisdom and fun can absolutely coexist.

Tre kept students engaged throughout the day and brought plenty of laughter. It was a great mix of learning and fun!

Thank you to the Meers family for supporting our school through the Believe Fundraiser and making this special opportunity possible. 💙

We can’t wait to welcome you to conferences, starting at 1:30pm today, you may enter the south or west doors! If you’re unable to make your scheduled time, please let us know as soon as possible and we can try to move you to another open slot. While you’re here, please take a moment to check the lost & found by the office and help your child clean out their locker (including the top) of any old snacks, clothes, bags, etc. so we can deep clean over the long break and avoid attracting critters. See you tonight!

🧪🎈 Science Lab Fun in 8th Grade!

Our 8th graders got hands-on in the lab this week as they filled balloons with distilled water, instant snow, and hand sanitizer to observe reactions and create their own squishy science experiments!

Learning is always more exciting when you can see (and squish!) the results. ❄️✨

📚🍎 Kenna had a great day as 3rd Grade Teacher of the Day!

She started the day by taking attendance, marking lunches, and checking cursive. Kenna also led the class in their religion lesson, helped students work through social studies and reading rotations, and finished the day with highs and lows and devotions.

🌟 Meet Miss Korte! 🌟
We’re so happy to welcome Miss Katee Korte to our Emmanuel-Faith family as our 1st grade student teacher from Concordia University, Seward! 🎉 She will be with us through early March, learning and growing alongside our students and staff.

Miss Korte began her college journey at Central Community College in Columbus, where she earned her Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education 📚🍎. She then transferred to Concordia to continue pursuing her bachelor’s degree.

Having grown up in a Lutheran school, she has always had a passion for Lutheran education and teaching young children ✝️❤️. She feels truly blessed to be serving here at Emmanuel-Faith!

Miss Korte lives on a farm north of Columbus 🚜🌾 with her family. Her parents work on their family farm, and she has an older sister and a younger brother who keep life busy and fun.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦, bingeing a good TV show 📺, and curling up with a great book 📖✨.

We’re excited to have Miss Korte in our classrooms and thankful for the time she will spend in our school community. Please join us in welcoming her to #TeamEF! 💙🎉

As part of NLSW, 6th grade learned about Mongolia through Lutheran Hour Ministries Gospel Adventure. They celebrated by watching Kung Fu Panda and making traditional Mongolian dishes. The khorkhog (stew served with a rock) and boortsog (fried bread served with Ms. Backhus’ honey) were delicious!

🚨 BREAKING NEWS: Student Demonstration Held at Emmanuel-Faith 🚨

This afternoon, a group of determined students (also known as our 6th–8th graders) launched an official campaign today advocating for No School Monday if the Patriots win the Super Bowl. 🏈😄

📍 Location: the parking lot
📣 Audience: Mr. Wellmann (called outside for an official response!)
🪧 Signs: handmade and persuasive
🏈 Energy: extremely high

Students could even be heard chanting:
“1-2-3, no school for me!” 😄

The group staged a full-scale (good-natured!) protest in hopes of convincing administration that Monday should be a day of celebration.

Official statement from the principal:
School WILL still be in session Monday — win or lose. 😉

We love seeing students having fun, using their voices, and building community spirit… even if their proposal doesn’t quite make it onto the calendar!
