🌟 Meet Kimberlee Tandy! 🌟 Let's give a warm welcome to Miss Kim, our new Music Teacher at Emmanuel-Faith! While she's stepping into this role for the first time, Kim has been a familiar face at Emmanuel since 2021, contributing in various ways. What does she look forward to most about her position? "I get to make music with other humans!" she exclaims. For her, music is a powerful, wonderful gift from our Creator, and she delights in sharing this gift with others. Kim's career path is as harmonious as her love for music. With a degree in music therapy, she brings a unique perspective to her role. She has worked as a music therapist in hospitals, clinics, schools, daycares, nursing homes, and mental health facilities. Through these experiences, she has used music to create bonds, happy memories, and tools for future enjoyment. 🎶❤️ Outside of her professional life, Kim enjoys life with her four wonderful kids, two of whom are E-FLS graduates and one who still attends. 👩‍👧‍👦 We're thrilled to have Kimberlee's passion and expertise enriching our community. 🌟 Meet Eleanor Clausing! 🌟 👋 Let’s welcome Miss Clausing, our new 2nd Grade Teacher at Emmanuel-Faith Lutheran School! She is joining us this August 2024. 🍎✏️ Although she is just joining the E-F community, she already loves how welcoming everyone is and how students get the chance to lead chapel. It's amazing to see young kids witness to their peers and teachers! 🌟💖 She recently graduated from Concordia University, Nebraska. Her parents are missionaries in Tanzania, and she spent her high school years overseas with them. 🌍✈️ Initially, she wasn't looking toward teaching, but through a series of open and closed doors, she discovered her passion for leading a classroom. 📚👩‍🏫 Eleanor finds joy in singing and playing music with her siblings, running, taking care of her houseplants, organizing, cleaning, and cooking (and eating!). 🎶🏃‍♀️🪴  We are excited to have Eleanor join our team and look forward to the positive impact she'll have on our students and community. 🌟Meet Karyn Backhus🌟 👩‍🏫 New to Emmanuel-Faith this year, Ms. Backhus brings her vibrant energy to our 6th grade class! It's her first year here, and she's already making waves! 🌊 What does she love most? The students! 😄🎉 6th graders are fun, hilarious, adventurous, and inquisitive. Every day is a chance to share faith while learning and growing together. 📚🙏 Her journey to Emmanuel-Faith has been filled with twists and turns. After graduating from Concordia, Karyn directed preschool at St. Paul’s in Utica then embraced the role of a stay-at-home mom for 5 years before a short time at DHHS. When God nudged her heart again, she knew it was time to return to the classroom. And here she is, making a difference in the lives of our students; right where she is meant to be! 🌈 Karyn is blessed with four children. Timothy is headed off to the Marine Corps this year, Daniel is 16, James is 11, and Abigail is 8. Our last day of school is on Thursday, May 16th. It is a full day of school with school-provided sack lunch, a regular 3pm dismissal, and normal bus service. The Closing Service is at 6:30 that evening and attendance by all students is expected; families are welcome, too!
